At one point in time he was basically viewed as a gatekeeper, but he's gotten significantly better. I wouldn't call him great, but he's developed into a good quality fighter.

 

Obviously good enough to decision Shumenov the first time around, even dropping him in the process.

 

5 knockouts is kinda disappointing, but hopefully the fight is good.

I think that straight right is going to really hurt campillo at some point.

 

Campillo fights like he's got ice water for blood. Didn't look the slightest bit fazed despite Shumenov landing some good shots and winning the 1st.

 

right now it's looking like the fight's going to be determined by campillo's defense vs. shumenov's lack of defense. shumenov's hitting all glove and campillo's starting to open up and tag shumenov a lot.

 

Closer round 2, I'd say Campillo had the edge. If the fight continues in this way, I think he'll stop Shumenov late. Beibut's putting too much energy in these shots and throwing too many wild ones. At this rate, I think he'll gas again.

 

Campillo has impressive defense... he blocks really well.

Shumenov almost reminds me of Jermain Taylor. He fights like a front-runner, and he'll pay the price later unless he can manage his stamina better.
