    Brinkley's hands getting busy. Stevens tags him a couple of times but getting largely outlanded. Stevens bothered by Brinkley's wingspan, as he's still slicing a lot of air. Brinkley causes Stevens to turtle up. Stevens jab misses by two feet. Brinkley trades in the trenches and eats a short hook. They tie up and Stevens throws a loaded hook after they break, Brinkley again simply waving hello at it.

    Tied up 38 all.

    I had a sinking feeling Stevens would be lost if he couldn't get the early knockout. Don't fighters have backup gameplans anymore?

    Stevens is faster, those left hooks in the first round looked vicious but Brinkley is looking steady. Is it possible that Stevens is waiting for Brinkley to tire? Or just head hunting and so far Brinkley doing 'ok.

    Stevens needs to circle left to land his hook but he's not. Brinkley coming straight at him and scoring, then using veteran tricks on the way out (twisting, bobbing). Stevens again fighting off the ropes. Stevens looking a bit tense now, his shoulders up at his ears. Brinkley starting to look looser. He's fighting a very Roman Karmazinesque fight tonight - keeping close but not squared up and patiently hammering away in between deflecting as many blows as possible. Brinkley gets Stevens on the ropes again. Stevens throwing almost exclusively jabs when they exit the phonebooth.

    Another Brinkley round, his first lead on my card. 48-47.

    damn commercial looks like they were landed after the bell. hopefully brinkleys eye holds up, so far its entertaining, id hate to see a shut eye end it.
