ESPN FNF: Brian Vera vs. Donatas Bondorovas & Jackson Junior vs. Umberto Savigne RBR

Round 4

Bondorovas is getting pushed back as Vera pours in jabs and right hands. Vera is starting to catch Bondorovas more as blood trickles down Bondorovas' face and perhaps spouts up into his eye to affect his vision. Bondorovas keeps wiping his thumbs across his face to clear the blood, and lowering them while backing up to preserve his breath. Vera won't give him any room, bearing down with heavy pressure behind the jab and roller-brush right hand. Bondorovas is putting out jabs and rights of his own but not putting his hear into them so much as escaping and smearing the blood from eyes.

Not only did Vera outwork him, but he actually landed at a significantly higher percentage for once in the 4th.

Atlas is patting himself on the back for having said this would be competitive.

 

Round 5

Vera is putting in jabs, pecking with hard singles and then fluttering out doubles, and curling rights in around the side. Bondorovas is covering up while circling nearby and then trotting outside with his arms down. A few pokes to the body by Bondorovas. Wide sweeping hook by Bondorovas on the outside, missing. Vera pushes his arms out, palms facing outward, dropping his gloves down to knock Bondorovas' jabs from their flight path when he sees them coming. Flurries by Vera coming forward. Flush counter right hand by Bondorovas; not enough to steal it back for him after giving up so much activity, but it impresses the crowd.

I'm not really a fan of awarding guys rounds based on a single punch...unless it's a borderline KD shot. (and that wasn't; Vera grinned while eating it)
