    OK so Berto may have been willing sometime by 2010 or later. You still got a 2+ year stretch on HBO with Collazo the riskiest opponent.

    Fair enough on GGG. They're clearly trying to find him a worthy opponent every time out. I have a feeling they're trying to bully Macklin into taking the june fight, he keeps coming up with all these alternatives (Lee, Lemieux)

    Well as I said, the Berto fight had been mentioned before that and Arum would always go with "pricing himself out."

    And if I haven't been clear, my initial comment was not a criticism of Golovkin's opponent choice, at least here. It had more to do with what I take as Hershman's own predilection for supporting fighters above and beyond what they're drawing power would suggest, something Greenburg deservedly got killed for with Haymon fighters but something that I think should be viewed problematic for any network head regardless of the beneficiary. I'd be a little disappointed if Golovkin fights Vera next but it's understandable if it's a mandatory; I'd be far more annoyed though if HBO bought that fight as a main event.
