Douglas is working in with jabs and sandbag-hauling rights. Douglas isn't bothering to sharpen up & shorten his blows even though Worthy is able to punch with him and land some counter jabs and rights while moving around him. They're warned to keep their punches up after trading some body shots. Backhand jabs by Douglas. Clinch. Mark Nelson instructs to get their hands free and work clean.

Nope. I have a feeling the ESPN suits weren't exactly sure they would have to show us Douglas vs. Worthy - but Shelestyuk and Savigne were too damn efficient and so here we are.

 

Round 3

Douglas is whipping rights in haphazardly, sometimes setting up with his jab and sometimes not. Worthy holds his left arm out, but Nelson pleads "don't push your hand in his face. Give me a clean round, guys..." Combination by Douglas, doubling uppercuts alternating with either arm. Worth puts his forearms up to block and then dives in to clinch. Douglas' corner yells to let those hands go. Instead he watches as Worthy circles and hunches low. 1-2 by Douglas. Chopping shots by Douglas, barking as he throws. Worthy pushes a weak jab to the stomach, then saunters backward across the ring.

Usually I'm a proponent of "as much boxing as possible", but..

This was a bad decision, ESPN.

Both the live audience at Turning Stone Resort and TV viewers had lots of adrenaline boosted up from the opening bout & co-feature and that's now all been completely squandered with this boner-killing low skill snooze fest.
