question: does hilario have no discipline or is his corner just not giving him any good advice? where's the ****in jab? can the guy just not move and punch at the same time? he doesn't look like he belongs anywhere near a contender right now.
Round 8 This is now ugly, with four arms colliding as both men try to launch an offense. MH backs up to plan out his attack...WH charges at him and gets countered hard on the chin. The 1-2 really opening things up for MH as it has all night long. WH has his hands low now, back to stalking and looking for a spot (rather than boring in and getting clinched as in the previous round). Hilario gets a sidelong right hand to clip over Honorio's ear but it doesn't affect him much. WH on the ropes; MH hits him everywhere that's legal. 80-70 Honorio
More of the same during round 8. Honorio is battling Hilario around, Hilario occasionally comes back with a stinging winging hook or body shot that would stop Honorio but he never builds on it. Hilario looks very tough but Honorio is just too fast. Honorio backing straight up and counters Honorio on the ropes. Honorio with a BIG flurry as Hilario sits nt he ropes. Hilario eats 4 punches as the round ends, all clean on the chin. 10-9 79-72 for Honorio
call me crazy but i can see Hilario landing some crazy counter left hook off the ropes and ending the show......possibly on account of Honorio gassing out around rnd 11
I wish ESPN would occasionally amuse us by staying in the corners during rounds. I'd love to hear if Hilario's corner is saying anything other than "HE THREW HIS WAD!"
Maybe because he realizes that a stoppage victory over an undefeated prospect, coming off a victory over the undefeated Molina JR. might catapult him into a higher profile fight (perhaps on HBO or Showtime.) Just saying...
