Just a heads up as I know everyones getting pretty bored with eff all boxing on TV at the moment, I know its not live and I know its at stupid o clock on a sunday night/monday morning (I usually record it) but Channel 5 have got some decent ESPN FNF's coming up, Julio Diaz, Vivian Harris, Urango/Bailey + Woods/Cloud on the same bill. On the issue of Woods you would think that Channel 5 having the rights to that fight anyway would show it at more of a decent time.
Ok big big thanks for this. I know I shall be able to avoid the Wooods result for awhile soo hopefully I can see the fight without knowing the outcome. When is this show aired?
Usually Sunday night/Monday morning at some point between 2-4am. Sometimes as an added bonus they'll chuck on an episode of Boxing Classics before it.
I normally being on late shift (10am) but on Mondays it's not so much of a problem as I get up at my normal time to watch the ESPN FNF from that week. :good
The annoying thing though is that sometimes their shows can be erratic. Like somebody mentioned previously, they just broadcast the Prescott/Vazquez card two weeks in a row, and they broadcast the last Gamboa card twice as well. Must be annoying when you make a specific effort at that time of the night/morning, so I just record it and watch it Monday afternoon usually.
They showed the Sam Peter vs Eddie Chambers card twice too. God it was bad enough the first time!!! Does anyones sky+ hav issues with FNF on Ch5? When I try and fast forward the adverts the programme returns to the point where I was last watching when I press play. I have to go and manually enter a time. This is the only programme it does it on! Very annoying
Forgot about Peter-Chambers.... even though I saw it twice! I don't have Sky+ (I'm on Virgin Media), so I just record them onto VHS, then transfer them to DVD as I'm watching them (cutting out all the BS & adverts in the process).
I've also recorded it before and it's been slightly off schedule, so I've lost the last couple rounds of the fights. You'd think they would put on the Woods fight at a reasonable time, but I don't think they even bother finding out who is fighting to be honest. I don't see why they don't have it on Five USA at a reasonable time.
I doubt they have a clue that a British guy is in a world title fight on one of their shows. There is no reason why this couldnt be shown as a one off at a normal hour..
Yeah theyre often off schedule by a bit, I usually do what Gaz S does (as havent got Sky+). This is it, surely they could accomodate showing it on FiveUs instead of half the repeats they show!
Why don't we petition them to put the boxing on at a better time. They get good fights but no one knows when the **** it is on.
I bet they hardly look at the content, its just a case of "Heres the card we'll show this week" without a second thought to what actual fights are on.
