I'm not really certain why people are complaining. Echols-Walker turned out to be a very good, hard-fought fight. The Oubali fight on the undercard of Rodriguez-Browning was a lot of fun to watch as well. There's been some good stuff thus far, and it's not like we're that far into the year.

Well said. Given ESPN's budget and the lack of mainstream attention that boxing gets, I think they do a good job. It would have been nice to see Allan Green in action, but that's on Green not ESPN.

tessitore and atlas are very biased in their analysis. seems like atlas has an axe to grind with several fighters. dude fukin hates wlad.

however, brian kenny is one the most fair and intelligent analysts ive ever heard. u can also tell he loves boxing as it really comes through in his analysis :p

:good Yes, at least we've still got a live regular cable show dedicated to boxing. Be thankful for that.

As 2008 goes, I liked the Edison Pantera Miranda vs David Banks fight. exciting ko... plus the commentary was a bit wacky in reaction to the nice ko.

Fnf is a bit of a hit and miss affair.

Last night's was an enjoyable main event, no foty, but enjoyable.

I'll take all the boxing I can get, even if I have to sludge through some of the shitty fights to get to the good ones.

If espn invested a bit more into the shows the budgets could provide for better fighters and fights.

But as a whole, I'm glad to have Friday night fights.

The way I see it, ESPN's Friday Night Fights is like your current girlfriend. She's no Halle Berry (HBO) or Rosario Dawson (Showtime), but she's with you and even though she gets on your nerves sometimes, she's more good than bad. Plus, she's better than the cute girl who hardly ever comes around (Versus) or that ugly girl you hook up with when there is no other option (Fox Sports). Still, you'd like to give that cute Hispanic girl a shot (Telefutura) if only she was available in your neighborhood.
