Rigondeaux has not faced anything near a test so far. Has any of his opponents even tried to hit him? And you just know some silly comments will follow tomorrow about how he should be fighting juan ma next or Rafael Marquez or a top 10 fighter. He is strong and pyhsical and is a counter puncher. Lets see how his chin gets tested when he actually boxes someone who can hit back. Until then, my judgement is reserved.
I think I'm gonna change the title back. This was a night of mismatches. Andrade was terrible, and those stiffs in the first two fights were even WORSE! The only opponent that earned his paycheck was Santos, the guy in the third fight
:huh No. I meant his movements were like somebody trying to play DDR in snowshoes on stilts - short, jerky, uncoordinated. How is that like Floyd? :?
Also for the record I am in no way shape or form sold on Rigondeaux. To me he isnt busy enough, I dont see great power and eh lacks head movement with a straight up and down head. Somewhere soon someone is gonna knock him right out.
Oppss sorry... I thought I read something like Andrade doing some "dance" so I was thinking of Floyd... Just messing around Bro... .
That is what they were talking about, they are working on being busier coming forward. However, when you see a guy coming at him like Andrade didn't tonight, he will look a lot more impressive fighting his natural style. He does move his head when he needs to. He didn't need to move his head because Andrade didn't throw any punches at him, and when he did, he moved his body and his head.
Well, I'd have to here echo the point Teddy made, that "these guys know what they're in with". We can't assume that Rigo will approach a fight with Al Seeger or Jhonny Gonzalez the same way he handled a nervous and uninspired Giovanni Andrade.
