6 weeks and gamboa going to jump 2 divisions?? why not let gamboa pick up a belt at 130 in january then fight rios in the summer of 2012 or put him on the floyd pac undercard on may 5.

Gamboa's soul gonna get put on ice. Rios too big and strong and Gamboa's punches will bounce right off him. Terrible style matchup for Gamboa.

I read that Gamboa plans to go up to 135 to fight for Rios's WBA title. I think his last fight was at 127, he could probably fight at 135 comfortably. It will be fun to see if Gamboa can handle clean shots from one of the hardest punchers at Lightweight, if Rios can get close enough to land consistently.

Would be a great addition. Who's fighting in on January 28th as main event? That a Saturday?

So many things wrong with this fight. Let me just say Featherweight vs a Lightweight.

I dont know but rios vs gamboa is main event worthy imo, it just seems weird for 135 6 weeks after rios' fight and making gamboa jump up 2 divisions.

Well Gamboa has fought at 130 before so it really like one weightclass witch is not too much of a stretch.

If Gamboa can look impressive at 135 I wouldn't mind it being a main event.. But I doubt we'll get to see that by Jan 28th...

    Probably just getting our attention.

You are an idiot if you believe Rios will fight the toughest fight of his career 6 weeks after defending his title.

If this is true, I think Arum is cashing out Gamboa. I really don't see any advatage for Top Rank to do this unless their about to lose him. Donaire-Gamboa (w/o a loss), does way better. Rios is too big for most light weights, and after watching him walk down a heavy handed Acosta, Gamboa would get squashed. If Gamboa is moving to 135, give him a couple fights to atleast build that fight into an attraction. That fight doesn't make sense now unless something's up.
