ESPN has GGG (weak resume) #2 P4P over Ward, Klit, Bradley, Estrada? What a Joke!

What are your thoughts on LaMar Clark? He kicked off his career 42-0 with 41 KOs.

Was he more impressive than GGG at that time?

Whatever... I just wish the mods would ban this clown for good. He adds absolutely nothing to this forum.

Golovkin nor Ward have the resume chops to justify being ranked #2.

That's rightfully Wlad's spot, if not #1. He unifies, will travel to fight, and routinely fights the highest rated available contenders.

Since when did traveling become a prerequisite to enter the P4P ranks?!?!?!?!

I'm of the opinion that every P4P ranking is seriously flawed. It's just to subjective, there is no objectivity to any of them.

No way Lemieux makes it to the sixth round, imo. He is a decent fighter. That's it.

I will not propagate the notion that GGG ko'd anything near Greb, Hagler or Monzon or that he should be pfp #5 or higher.

    I know YOU won't! :good

And I don't mean to trivialize as if that's true of every Golovkin supporter, and apologies to his more reasonable supporters, who appear to constitute a silent minority around here these days, for the most part.

At the same time, I'm sure you'd agree that we're bound to see a good deal of that in the post fight aftermath.

Which, incidentally, I agree with you - but I would seriously be surprised if Lemieux sees the bell to start the 4th. I believe GGG will rise to the occasion of his first showcase spotlight under the PPV banner and put on a noteworthy highlight display exhibit.

Unfortunately, there are a few more jokes/haters. They can go to Hell though if they are so blind.

Similar to how some people had Gatti on pound for pound lists lol. Golovkin hasn't faced the stiff opposition to be rated so high on the pound for pound list. If you took Hopkins during his middleweight run, and fed him the exact same opposition, he would be viewed as a vaunted power puncher as well, with a high KO ratio. Golovkin has been fighting an assortment of bums, cab drivers, contender failures, and one okay middleweight opponent in Murray. His opposition has been really atrocious. The fact that a faded, shopworn, smaller guy like Kassim Ouma, gave Golovkin one of his two toughest fights, really makes you realize how ****ty Golovkin's opposition has been. Guys not making the cut at their regular weight division, were repackaged, and moved to Golovkin's division, so HBO could try to sell them as viable opponents, cough, Gabe Rosado, cough Curtis Stevens. Danielle Geale is just not that good, neither was Monroe, or for that matter, any of Golovkin's opponents. Martin Murray was an okay middleweight contender, but Murray wouldn't be a top 10 guy in the 90s, so that isn't saying much.

Golovkin isn't really showing pound for pound heart either. Claiming he will fight anyone from 154 to 168, then being a coward and putting stipulations on everything. I wouldn't mind seeing Golovkin bang with the power punching Charlo Twin, Lara, or Williams at 154 or 160. I wouldn't mind seeing Mr. I want to move to 168 to fight Froch and that Bum Chavez Jr. fight Andre Ward. But we already saw how that played out, in a cowardly fashion.
