Martinez should wait for Mayweather's court date to see if he can fight

Lee has some promise, but is basically a club fighter for the time being.
Let Andy avenge his loss , and then we'll talk about a Martinez fight.

Really? I thought Martinez was the one who rambled on about Zbik not being a worthy opponent...

The WBC will have to shove a mando down HBO/Martinez' throat before Dec '11. I'm just hoping it's not Zbik. :D

mayweather is not going to face martinez, the only guy he can face right now and get credit for it is berto. He could just wait til the summer then sign a fight with a delusional khan.

Lee was stopped by a contender contestant in his 1st fight on the show.
I can totally understand why they wouldnt want this fight. Andy Lee is
not worthy of a title shot IMO.

hell ya I do. All of his last 5 opponents were coming off of KO wins and he fought the number 1 guy at lightweight, lightwelterweight, welterweight twice and light middleweight in his last fights. It is a typical Mayweather opponent.
Why wouldn't he get credit for Martinez. If he beat him he'd definitely take his p4p crown back

thank god HBO rejects martinez - lee and pushes for dzsinziruk.

sergio martinez is the middlweight King, even so dzinziruk is no middlweight. dude is undefeated, has solid boxing skills and a lot of other boxer seem too not wanting too fight him. sergio has no problem boxing avoided boxer like marga or pw, so dzinziruk would be great as a next opponent.

Of course he would get a lot of credit, thing is that martinez is the most dangerous match up for floyd, even more then pacquiao. After what he did to williams and knowing how floyd operates its logical to assume he will not face Martinez. Martinez called him out after the fight, we havent heard a word from floyd since, he could have said yeah sure we fight in 11 after my problems are over. I think its more likely martinez will face cotto in the end.

Has this change to 154 and WBO title got anything to do with Bob Arum threatening Cotto PPV on the same night. Is there a pissing contest going on.

I don't know Dzinziruk and am a Lee supporter but on paper and at 154 this does look a more exciting contest.

Wont be booking my flight to NYC just yet.

the fight wouldn't be at 154. Dizzy would be moving up.

As for HBO and Top Rank going head to head March 12....I think they both want to get their fights in before March Madness, which begins the following weekend.

I'll give the devils their due- I'm really impressed with HBO's decision here. Martinez-Dzin is a much better fight, and I had been worried about them not doing anything with Sergei. At least the dude can get one big fight before he retires if this comes through.

It's a good defense for Sergio, too.
