    Round 8

Beltrán is clinging to Okada like shrink-wrap, pummeling his lungs and forearms with uppercutting combos while leaning in on him but quickly sputtering out and tying him up to suck in deep, heaving breaths until the ref spatulas them apart. Okada is letting himself be grabbed every few seconds to show the ref he isn't culpable, just obligingly submitting to Beltrán's rag-dolling like a geisha. After the breaks, Okada is popping jabs into Beltrán's face until his next dirty, frantic sortie, keeping his elbows low to catch some of Beltrán's low blows.

    10-9 Okada, close & ugly

    76-75 Okada

    Round 9

Beltrán is falling atop Okada, hooking at his sides, but unable to hang onto him, Okada wriggling loose, taking a step back, and tripling up on a hook to Beltrán's face which bothers the Mexican and forces him to clinch. 1-2-3 on the chin by Okada, turning Beltrán's head with the punctuating shot. Beltrán now flurries into Okada's face and exhausted, they both collapse into a clinch, supporting each other's weight. Body shots by Beltrán. Flurry on the head by Okada. BIG CHOPPING RIGHT BY RAY! Okada down in a heap. Up at nine. He's shaky. A minute left. Beltrán rushes him into the ropes. Okada taking a pounding. He sits on the middle rope. The ref has a close look. Okada getting peppered. He falls.

    TKO9!!

Okada was just too open for the overhand right and left hook all night.

Retire on a winning note would be a smart move.
