    Round 6

Ramírez is a dirty SOB, landing a flush uppercut during the break as the ref was pushing them apart, with Zepeda not even defending himself. Zepeda shakes it off like it was nothing, so fortunately a non-factor. That was essentially a wide-open "free" shot, could have been a vexing fight-ender if Zepeda had a glass jaw. Ramírez pressing with the left jab, backing Zepeda nearly into a corner. Ramírez tries a high left hook and misses, cuffing the back of Zepeda's head with his inner forearm and crook of his elbow. Ramírez is pressing, throwing right hands into Zepeda's armpit as Zepeda keeps pumping out the right jab and looking to line up the straight left counter. Low blows from both, warned. Ramírez diving in with right hands, Zepeda ducking & trotting away, bounding past Ramírez and dotting him with jabs.

    10-9 Zepeda

    60-54 Zepeda

Dammit, I originally went with Zepeda and changed my mind, I've always thought he was the more naturally gifted fighter, but every time he's stepped up something has went awry, or he's gassed, of all the nights for him to have his coming out party, this is a good one, I wish I had faith that he could have done it.

    Round 7

Ramírez is cut from a headbutt, and the ref says to stop but Zepeda doesn't hear or ignores him. The ref screams in his face "I said to STOP!" and then checks out Ramírez, and takes no further action. Time in. Ramírez is pressing, leading with right hands on the chest which Zepeda catches on his crossed arms, then hooking but getting ducked in place by Zepeda, who counters with right jabs low & high. Zepeda is staying very low, tilting himself above the waist over to his left to keep his face off-center and making himself difficult for Ramírez to aim on. Zepeda is blocking and ducking virtually all of Ramírez's power shots but the crowd is egging him on as if he is having successes whenever he throws. Zepeda still in control with the southpaw jab. Zepeda starting to gas a little, however. Zepeda misses a left hand jumping in and clinches.

    10-9 Zepeda

    70-63 Zepeda
