ESPN Knockout: Ricardo Adán Salas Rodríguez vs. Jesús Mauricio Estrada Sánchez RBR

Salas and Estrada both hail from the nation's capital, 500 kilometers south of the city and state of Aguascalientes (which means "hot water" in Spanish) that is hosting their battle.

 

Salas has more blemishes on his 21-2-2 (16) record than does Estrada on his 12-0-1 (7), but has faced the much better competition professionally. His losses were to high-level international journeyman Abraham "Pitbull" Juárez, and Julio Ulises "Canelito" Luna Ávila whose only defeat is to Giovani Santillán.

Estrada shows glimpses of ability to box on the outside, using his reach, jabbing and moving - but invariably traps himself on the ropes where Salas can tee off with his climbing body-to-head combos.

Excellent bounceback ninth for Salas, that's exactly what he needed. Body flurries, moving forward, elbows tucked, and forcing Estrada into the ropes with chopping overhand head shots.
