Boxrec lists 8 rounds but they probably demoted it for time constraints for TV; as for it being a super bantam contest they both missed weight by half a pound, which technically makes this a featherweight contest IMO, but hey...

 

If he gets successful there is a lot of room for broadcasters to have fun saying his victims got "Bastar'd"

 

These guys fought to a draw last November, also in Cancún.

They don't look too evenly matched here in the return engagement, however. Bastar aggressively chiseling away on Nava with the southpaw 1-2 and nearly put him down a couple of times (himself going down from throwing himself off balance)

Round 2

Nava steps in, hooking up high with both hands. Bastar keeps his guard up while leaning inside, absorbing the hooks on the outer knuckle pads of his gloves, then steps outside and begins to peck with the right jab to set up left crosses and counter straight left solo blasts & long uppercuts as Nava is walking in. Nava is doubling and tripling his orthodox left jab on the way in but getting checked on Bastar's right glove. Nava is bouncing in place and pawing with the left jab, then hooking wide at the body while swooping forward in a low, wide-based squat. Bastar shoeshines the body and Nava lands a rabbit punch. Bastar is unfazed and continues to work the body, and Nava chops down with another flush hard neck shot. Bastar is slowed only momentarily, still working the body. Pit-pat combos on the face of Nava from Bastar, lulling him, then ripping a BIG looping left across his jaw and staggering him just before the bell.

Round 3

Bastar is letting Nava take long wide swipes at the hip and flank with his left, then stepping in and landing straight punches. Nava is dipping to either side and loading up on hooks as he falls in and Bastar just keeps stepping back and lining him up for left straights & uppercuts - some missing, some grazing, and some rocking Nava. Bastar is leading with the left uppercut now, scooting in with a follow-up right hook and deflecting Nava's flurries off the back of his forearm.

Round 4

Bastar is throwing clean left hands down the pipe after slinking away from Nava's flurries and sinking low into a seated position to make him miss. Lead uppercuts on the belt line by Bastar at mid-range, then right hooks and clubbing lefts as Nava comes in lumping out left jabs up top and flapping at Bastar's sides messily. All slappy arm punches from Nava. Bastar puts together a sequence of alternating uppercuts on the stomach with a step inside and then backs out. Bastar goes low (retaliation after Nava has been going low for the previous three rounds), and Nava sells it like a soccer player and Bastar has a point docked with zero warnings.

Commentators acting like this could be close on the judges' cards just because Nava's work rate is higher.

He's getting his ass kicked, regardless, and it hasn't been like Bastar is overly economical or anything. Plus, one Bastar shot is worth like 5 of Nava's poorly turned over, limp feather-fist slaps.
