This was scheduled to begin at 10pm sharp and was preempted by a few minutes by whatever sport was on in the preceding time slot (a soccer match, I think) but we're live now.

    Round 1

Falcão down from the first shot!!!! Right hand on the sternum, between the wrists, glancing and partially blocked shot, flash knockdown, he wasn't hurt but it counts. Falcão is up and working right jabs & hooks at mid-range and sending left crosses smashing into the guard of Gutiérrez, who is protecting his lead and playing it safe by circling in a monotonous lull and throwing pot shots from a secure vantage behind a tight shell to ensure he does get the due two-point swing.

    10-8 Gutiérrez

I think both Falcão brothers seemed in the amateurs like they had very "pro-ready" styles but the more I watch them in the for-pay game the more I see that no, they were best suited where they were. Not saying the flaws will prevent them from grabbing belts along the way but it will be a long uphill climb to "greatness", I'm just not seeing it.

    Round 2

Falcão is moving to his right and popping Gutiérrez in the head with quick right jabs, turning him with an incisive step outside his front leg and zinging him with the southpaw 1-2. Gutiérrez is covering his chin with the knuckle pad of his right glove and dangling his left arm to counter with jabs as he shuffles on the backfoot, not getting much off.

    10-9 Falcão

    19-18 Gutiérrez

Yes, if anybody is wondering, this is the same Gutiérrez that lost to Joshua Clottey by MD a dozen years ago (when both arguably should have been coming in as undefeated prospects; Clottey's only previous defeat was via questionable disqualification versus Carlos Manuel Baldomir)

    Round 3

Not a hell of a lot happening. Falcão is pecking him with jabs and 1-2s, working in a few medium-light body combos, throwing a few reckless leaping right hooks on the way in, looking to point-score as much as possible and leaving himself open to counters. Gutiérrez not taking advantage much, staying in his Philly shell and leaning away, luring the Brazilian around the ring and riding his shots, occasionally looping a right hand up top and hoping to hit the lottery.

    10-9 Falcão

    28-28

    Round 4

Gutiérrez is just melting into the scenery, his style and body language very negative, down to his exaggeratedly leaned-outside posture. He's doing his best to blend in, make himself a non-target, only catching Falcão's attention sporadically with grazing looping rights when Falcão nearly traps him in a corner - and the ref's attention when the heads clash too many times and warnings are issued. Not more than your boilerplate orthodox vs. southpaw clashes, though. Nothing flagrant.

    10-9 Falcão

    38-37 Falcão
