He wants to be a 5 division champ. He has to beat the Pacquiao/Bradley winner to do that.

Championships are worthless, nobody cares...Isn't Broner a 2-division champ too? You think people will give Pac credit for his MW-title-win vs Margarito f.e.?

He would definitely rank higher ATG if he just retired after beating Pacquiao, he CAN'T get a better ending than that.

Broner is a 3 division champ. Pacquiao won a LMW title against Margo. And people trumpet him as an 8 division champ all the time. If you don't care about titles, that's on you. Marquez does. It's his career.

    Fair enough.
He had the chance to go out on a high note, if he wants to be another Erik Morales or Marco Antonio Barrera fighting on 10 years removed from their prime and risking their health getting embarrassed by people they would've handily beat in their prime, please.
Like you said, it's his career.
But I don't have to like it.

How's that a duck? Marquez is coming off a loss. Nothing wrong with a confidence builder with what seems like a guarantee at either Pac ($) or Bradley (revenge).

Why is that guy called "Mile High Mike" anyway?

I come from Germany and the only time I heard about "Mile High" was when people were talking about banging chicks on the toilet of an airplane.

So does that guy like ****ing chicks in airplanes or what?

Mike is from Denver, which is called the Mile High City, because it's elevation is a mile above sea level.

What a pointless fight and a huge letdown to fans.:bart

Truth be told, JMM should have just sit on the sidelines for the Bradley/Pac winner.

Am I missing something? What's the big problem with this fight? Not trying to be disrespectful or anything just curious.

A guy like Marquez in his age should only be fighting fights that mean something. This doesn't.

Give him a break. He's coming off a loss and in the event he wins he's guaranteed either Pacquiao, which is a big money fight. Or Bradley, a guy he can get revenge against. Jesus, a 40 year old coming off a loss fights a decent enough fighter in his next fight and he still has critics.

Well I don't see the logic of this fight, sorry.
If you want to prove sth, fight Provo.
A loss to Provo wouldn't hurt him that bad (resumewise, physically might be a different matter), he could still fight Pacquiao after that.
I don't know what he wants to prove fighting him again, but okay, if he needs the money so bad...
Fighting Bradley again is nonsense, why should he do better this time around?
Retirement was by far the best option before AND after fighting Bradley the first time.
