Why would Pac fight him if he beats Bradley and Marquez loses to Provo? And if he loses to Provo, that pretty much guarantees he takes a bad beating at age 40 with all the wars he's been in, that would probably be it for him.

No one's saying he needs the money that bad but if you can be guaranteed somewhere between $5-$15 million anyone would want to fight for that outside of Mayweather. And maybe he wants to fight Bradley again because he's competitive? That's right, you like soccer. You don't know what competitive means.

I guess we agree to disagree.

Well it's not like Pac has many options either is it?
It's either Marquez V or Bradley III, maybe Provo if he doesn't move to GB, that's it.

    Fact:

Marquez is picking Alvarado because he thinks Mike is a ruined fighter after watching the Provo beatdown

    and he might be right

This. Plus the fact that this fight isn't a title fight or a mandatory and JMM will take unnecessary damage, just like he always does, and for what?

Agree, they wouldn't be taking this as a stay busy fight unless they though Mike was damaged goods. They also didn't want to fight Bradley till he looked damaged by Prov. Mike is a safer bet of course, but he's still the biggest guy JMM will have face, pretty good puncher.

Why not? 1, 2 were FOTY contenders, 3 pretty good, 4 FOTY with unexpected KOTY. Sounds like good action, most casuals that caught 4 probably be coming back for more.

    wowww

Whatever, JMM is 40 years old..... I suppose these are the type of fights hes going to be taking at this point of his career and rightfully so. But its a whack fight, imo.

Buncha whiners:roll: I'd swear some of you aren't really boxing fans at all.

It's a stay busy fight and nothing more! All things considered it's a decent fight.

I like Alvarado by decision. JMM can't beat boxers and Mike can box

What does beating Provo prove? If JMM loses, everyone will say he was too old. JMM has beating much better fighters than provo throughout his career and provo is the type of fighter Marquez looks great against. Beating Provo wont enhance JMM's legacy and losing will only mean he needs to retire.

The alvarado will tell us if JMM still has something left in the tank or if he should retire. If marquez can't beat a fighter like alvarado then he should just forgot about the bradley/pac winner and just retire. but if JMM does have something left then im glad he didn't retire. i love watching him fight at his best, i don't know why any boxing fan would want to watch JMM fight. :huh
