    ur whole argument is flawed. It's based on the whole premise that they started out looking for 100k only to have to reduce ticket prices to 40k. Rubbish, from the start they announced they were looking for 45k, the stadium has been reconfigured for 45k seats. So there's 45k seats, 45k tickets from the start, if 45k sells, it's sold out, what's so hard to comprehend?

    Wow - somehow you quickly pulled the '*******' insult. What happened- running out of legit arguments?

    No one is arguing that in the 1980s is more popular. That is my point about the Chavez fight. This is 2010. Boxing is in decline here in America. The HW champion's next fight is being blacked out. Even with the information age boxing is nowhere near the popularity level it once had.

    How are they being deceived when from the onset they announced they where seeking around 40K tickets? Most boxing venues are anywhere from 15-30k. Even the Pac vs PBF fight the 100k was considered not a guarantee.

    If they reach their goal it is sold out. You are the one making the arbitrary decision to say it aint so. Reconfiguring arenas is a common practice in the industry of concerts and events.

    UMM NOT. It was in the Dallas Star a few weeks ago that several sections had been made unavailable. That means they intended on selling more tickets, and have reduced the number of seats. Which means if they are now calling for 45k, that 45k wasnt the number they started with. And yes both bob arum and Jones said they were looking for 100k for the fight.

    :lol::good

    Any fight that's doing THAT number should make boxing fans happy. Non-boxing venue/city. State of the art and mainstream sports venue. Non-American main-eventers. 45k (est.). I mean, what's not to like as a fan of the sport? Healthy signs that boxing is in a renaissance... Goes to show that these mofos here are fans of fighters than the sport itself. Heck, I would go ape-**** crazy in delight if this was a May-Bruseles bout doing that kinda number, on the same venue myself...

    Fukk 'em haterz. No need to prove anything, or convince 'em. As fans, let's just enjoy the fight while these dimwits throw tantrums on the sidelines like ******ed tots counting loose change, deprived of lollipops. :bbb

    Why? Are there posters here who are still hating/being negative that the stadium is nearly sold out by now?

    They sound like Mayweather, Jr actually.:yep

    with the economy, $50 ticket price are reasonable. even if floydee with some kinda miracle grew a couple and agreed to fight in texas, ticket prices would still be near that. the size of the venue almost guarantees that.

    anybody else looking forward to how good the big screens are gonna look in the fight? i guarantee you, seeing that on tv will make this fight look very polished. it will put boxing up another level above MMA. in contrast, floyds fight in vegas will look like an old crumpled dollar bill.

    It will sell out and PPV will be $600k+ and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the PPV of this fight is close to Mayweather/Mosley's PPV.

    Nah.....the only ones who are weary of Manny are Floyd and his fans. Everyone else respect Manny, including the majority of what makes up the boxing public. If Top rank purchased any amount of tickets it will not be a lot b/c Arum is looking to make money not give it away.

    They seem to be focusing more on making sure that the fight is 'sold out' rather than getting in as many people as they can.

    When I went to see Calzaghe vs Kessler they did it the other way around, they set it up for as many as possible rather than limiting the seats too much to just say "We sold out" and pulled in over 50,000.

    Still a good effort with what they've sold.

    Find me an article that says their looking for 100k or stfu. I can find you atleast 5 articles quoting then 40-45k from the start.
