Damn, 45 000 is amazing props to arum for promoting this the right way :good

    however 45 000 in a 100 000 + stadium is not a sell out.....

They are just using the word "sellout" to hype the fight.... LOL cmon guys, no one is insulting pac on this one(pulling 45k against clottey is insane)... just arum, who i think we can all agree to hate :good

They have to plan for a certain number and set up for that number. If they hit that number, it is a sell out. You don't staff for a 'possible' 100K if you expect half that amount.

Getting anywhere from 25k to 45k for this fight is a nice achievement for Pacquiao considering he is fighting a guy who most casual fans have never (or rarely) heard of and the overall card is quite shitty. Sure, ticket prices are lower than normal, who gives a ****.

I'm guessing 30-35k will be in attendance and that's nothing to be ashamed of (even though Arum will claim 45k). One more time - attendance numbers are always exaggerated for sporting events! This is nothing new.

You *******s are stupid as ****. You clowns dont even read the stuff that you post as proof.

the part were Arum said IN YOUR article that he hoped for 80K.

What you cats dont understand is that they have REDUCED the sections that were available for the fight. If you do that then you can call whatever number you sell a sellout, and that is what they have done. As I said if 10,000 people buy tickets from now until friday all of a sudden 50,000 will be a sellout, because they would reopen sections that they closed.

No one is saying that this isnt good for boxing, what those that dont have Pac's balls in thier mouth is saying is that its not a sellout when they have the room to sell more tickets past the 40,000, and secondly that its not that impressive that you would get 40,000 people in a very large area to come out and watch one of the best fighters of the generation at a very reasonable price.

You cant call it a sell out if the stadium is half empty

thats not true at all, id say for the most part the only people not weary about pac are his hardcore fans, but im not really speaking about the hardcore boxing fans, im talking the general public and casual sport/fight fan, to them refusing a drug test might as well be an admission of guilt, to say pac is def on something is stupid, but to not be a little weary or doubtful after the way everything unfolded would be just as if not more stupid

They aren't selling out the stadium, they are selling out the event. You sell all of the tickets you planned for, they are sold out. This isn't about selling out the stadium, it is about selling out the event.

But they can staff for 100k, so that makes it not a sellout. If you only have 18,000 seats and you sell 18,000 tickets then its a sellout. If you have 80,000 seats and you sell 40,000 tickets then its not a sellout. Just because you say you expect 40,000 but have the room and the ablity to seat double that doesnt make it a sellout. As I have said if they sold 50,000 tickets then they could seat 50,000 people. Its not med school here. Using the its sold out when you can go buy 1000 tickets right now is Arum trying to hype the fight and push up PPV numbers.

Once again 40,000 people is great, but its not as impressive as some are making it out to be.

A sell out refers to a packed out arena without a seat avaliable in the house....

Just because arum manipulated it into being a sell out, dosent mean people who arent ****ing suckers arent going to realize whats going on... Its just some good work by arum....

I can do the same thing, have a concert, only sell 10 tickets, and if 10 people buy the call it a sell out and have 1000 empty seats, But since i only planned to sell 10 tickets its a sell out show?? LOL dont fall for the hype

It would take a combination of fights to sell out that stadium. Floyd vs Pac would do 50 to 60k in that stadium. Because there would be no $50 tickets, which by the way are the tickets that are sold out at most ticket agents. Plenty of $100 and up tickets are still available for sell.

of course its a sellout if the event is set at 45000 and 45000 tickets are sold its a sellout.
what if they fought in the desert and the desert held 400,000.000 people does that mean they have to sell 400,000,000 tickets.NO.its how many tickets they have for the event

no thats not how it works, a sell out means a sell out, no more seats are available, you cant hold an even in a stadium that seats 80k+, sell half of that and call it a sell out, yes they sold a hell of alot of tickets and reached their goal, but it is not a sell out

Sure, if the desert had 400,000,000 seats surrounding the ring and infastructure to support such an event, and this desert was MADE to sell 400,000,000 seat events.... I sure as hell wouldnt call 45 000 a sell out :lol:

If you look around and see half the ****ing seats empty, are you telling me youd say... wow this place is sold out, look how many people came :rofl:rofl:rofl
