Ivan Redkach vs Yakubu Amidu These two are polar opposites. Redkach has a resume that would make a midwestern club fighter blush. Amidu on the other hand is as good a representative for the teak tough Ghanian stereotype as you'll ever find. He's been in there with several world champions and a few ESPN level fighters to boot. He's pushed almost all of them to the brink, sans a British stoppage against Ricky Burns. He's also currently training out of Wild Card, an interesting contrast to the Garcia trained Redkach. Oddly I've seen more of Macielo than I have Perez (Only caught his match against Gamboa) and I came away with the impression that he's a fairly skilled fighter but a bit frail. People used to tout Perez very highly but most fell off the wagon after the up and down Camano match followed by the Gamboa loss. So, what are everyones thoughts on these?
I'm not that high on Ivan I thought he barely eek by Tony Luis, but 'll probably beat Amidu on points, possibly by late stoppage. I'm rooting for Maicelo but most likely Perez UD. But what I really want to see is Khytrov knock the piss out of yet another poor unfortunate soul:hey BTW Redkach and Khytrov are on SHoBox
I goofed. My bad. I don't think there's much of a chance of Amidu being stopped. The Burns stoppage was a British one. Amidu can punch to the body, I see more of a chance of the untested Ivan being rattled late.
I just don't trust Maicelo under pressure. He looks silky and smooth, but I feel like most B-Level pressure fighters with a punch grind him down.
I wouldn't really care he did I think Ivan is a little bit of a hype job he's okay but hasn't wowed me the few times I've seen him, and I'm sure he'll be shoved down our throats since he just signed with Haymon.
