Tedy Atlas seems a little over the top when it comes to Deontay Wilder. It's like he really doesn't want to admit that he doesn't like the guy much but yet there he is sort of kind of bashing him on the opener. 7-0 Charlo against 6-2 Federico Flores kicks off our evening. Flores took this fight on 9 days notice and looks the part. Looks desperate to take this fight and end it as quickly as possible. Flores landing cleanly on Charlo whose a puppy in boxing years (19 years of age). Charlo has a nice jab though when he decides to let it go. Charlo coming foward with looping rights and uppercuts. 10-9 for Federico Flores
Right now? Jarmell Charlo 7-0, 3 KOs vs Federico Flores 6-2 Later on? Upcoming American HW Deontay Wilder vs a can of the tomato variety and Danny Jacobs vs 20-3 George Walton. Tessitore also hinted that there may be more upcming.
BJ Flores on the undercard of Roy Jones Jr vs Jeff Lacy in Biluxi, Ms on AUGUST 15TH as confirmed by BJ. David Haye will speak on the show
The fact that they didn't mention WHO BJ was facing leads me to believe it's another nobody. BJ is a good fighter though so good luck to him. Charlo is getting out worked by a fighter who took the fight on 9 days and has two losses n his resume. Charlo just isn't doing enough to stand out and he's getting outhustled by Flores. Flores isn't LANDING anything too spicy mind you but he's flailing his hands and that's what counts when the other guy doesn't do anything.
Tessitore and Atlas are shilling the Fight Night game now. Gotta love the hype job over the fight. Charlo has a good job when he wants to use it but Flores' is just more active with it. I got it 2-1 for Flores but honestly neither is doing a whole hell of a lot.
I think it's the only time you will see a Spanish commerical on ESPN. Obviously it's because of GBP's ties to Tecate, but they don't even have Spanish advertising during soccer matches.
I get all except for HBO right now. I had HBO for free as part of my Direct TV package but that expired so I'm currently without it. HBO fights I usually find a stream for and then do the R-B-R for it. Same on fights that aren't televised in the United States. I know we have a lot of guys here who can't see the fights so I usually try to do R-B-R if I can.
Despite not looking outstanding, Charlo has thoroughly taken over this fight. He's still young and seems to have some physical tools. We'll have to see several fights down the road with him.
