Yes, Oscar, the guy with titles in more weight classes, a couple of superior best wins, and a commendable performance past his prime against the other guy.

Gifts? Let me see your scores for the Sturm and Quartey fights, if you have them. On my cards he won those fights. Close but clear. Same with Whitaker who didn't put enough offense forth.

Lost most of his biggest fights? He got robbed against Trinidad and Mosley in the rematch. Hopkins was too much to chew on but taking that kind of risk is commendable.

I think most fighters would trade weight for youth any day, still gave Floyd plenty to deal with despite not doing much more than jabbing.

So let me show you how their best wins compare.

A prime Trinidad is better than a faded Pacquiao, or Corrales, or Castillo.
    Fernando Vargas>Canelo Alvarez.
Ike Quartey>Ricky Hatton. (Equal at least.)
    Mosley (2) in 2003>Mosley in 2010.
    Camacho>Corley.
    Mayorga>Maidana. (Equal at least.)
Quality contenders like Leija, Molina, Campas, and Ruelas easily compete with the likes of N'Dou, Judah, Guerrero, Ortiz.
Old Whitaker (and bonus, old Chavez)>old Oscar himself.
Beat up Gatti and Genaro Hernandez (undefeated) before Floyd did.

He has a case, at the very least.

Should be RJJ. His peak was higher than FMJ by a good margin

I think resume wise it's obvious that DLH is greater than Mayweather. But I think ESPN really put a lot of emphasis on H2H. And since Mayweather hasn't lost they inflated him up to #1.

They're overvaluing his H2H abilities in my opinion. Since the toughest challenge Mayweather faced in his career is probably a prime Julio Luis Castillo. Which to me is weak for a guy to be the greatest fighter of the last 25 years.

I just think the contradiction is such a strange thing. I mean Muhammad Ali lost to Spinks, Holmes, and Trevor Berbick while he was finished. But still nobody holds that against him today. Ray Robinson lost 19 fights in his career, but he's regarded as the GOAT.

But now everybody has a ***** for Mayweather's undefeated record despite his best win being Jose Luis Castillo. Honestly, does that make sense?

Also kind of strange that Erik Morales was #18 despite being the only man to defeat a prime Manny Pacquiao.

Can you imagine if Mayweather had beaten Pacquiao at 130 pounds? He beat a shot 36 year old blown up Pacquiao and they still want to elevate him to greatness for that win.

Yet Morales did it when it mattered.

I'm just trying to logically break this down and it's really doesn't make sense.
