According to a certain website, ESPN has rejected Ishe Smith
    This content is protected
for a 6/5 replacement opponent for Danny Perez.

Hey guy, what do you think....would Ishe be a good opponent for Perez?

His manager say that Ishe is one of the elites of the division, but there is biases because Ishe isn't Hispanic.

I think would be a very reasonable replacement at this late juncture. What issues could have prevented it besides money?

Ishe vs Joel Julio was boring beyond belief, which is probably why they rejected Ishe. His style lends itself to boring close decision losses and ESPN probably has no interest in that.

You're right about that. I had momentarily forgotten the fight. However, Ishe was in more exciting form, in my opinion, against Pawel Wolak in his next bout.

How about that Ishe is boring as hell and Molina's resume is just as good as Smith's.

Precisely....of course Btalk is claiming race as the reason. Ishe's had opportunities but has blown them.

I wasn't aware that Molina was in place. I saw him listed on BoxRec, but wasn't sure how accurate it was given the source.

Also, I'm not sure what is on Molina's resume that compares favorably with victories over Wolak, Bailey, Estrada, and A. Gomez. Is Smith exciting? Not really, but his resume isn't all that bad. Molina's record seems to be highlighted by a draw with JCC, Jr.

I don't think Molina has a better resume...that said Molina is a better stylistic match up for Perez and chances are Molina would take the gig for less.

How about Joe Greene, that would be a better replacement if they want a exciting fight.

Joe Greene was being discussed at one point. Don't necessarily know what's up with that though.

Ishe is with Leon....doesn't that count for something?

If ESPN doesn't want him, where else can Ishe go?

If Ishe was more exciting, he would probably be a decent undercard fighter for PPVs or Versus and a good showcase for younger fighters. Unfortunately he's not exciting nor is he very charismatic, which combined with a spoiler style means he's essentially screwed.

Ishe is a very skilled fighter. But he has the bad habit of fighting like a guy with more talent, power, and name recognition than he actually does. So he doesn't take as many risks as he should, drops close decisions, then wonders why networks don't adore him.

And his clock keeps on ticking away.
