I just saw on ESPN that Shane Mosley has agreed to fight Margarito and that he has once again fired his dad as his trainer. The fight is proposed on Jan 24 and the only thing holding the fight up is Margo, who isnt sure that its the best fight for him right now...HMMM that is interesting.....Margo better sign this fight or his rep will take a major hit, it will appear that he is only interested in fight either Cotto or Oscar a man that Shane has twice beatten...Not good for Margo:-(

Margarito should definitely take the fight. It's the biggest fight he can get at the moment, and I feel he will win it handily. He's probably just holding it for more money, but what if Mosley-Berto negotiations resurface?

The Cotto rematch is supposed to be the summer of 2009 anyway.

I hear Nazim Richardson is supposed to be the replacement. We'll see if he can make any sort of a difference, as Shane's other trainers (not including his dad) haven't really been able to change Mosly's style at all. Maybe we'll finally see more boxing and less brawling from Mosley.

I think that Shane should work with rodger mayweather, i think that would be the perfect trainer if Margo nuts up ans signs the fight.

Good move at the right time for Mosely.
He definitely imo would not have a chance vs Margarito the way he fought against Mayorga.

Mosely needs to incorporate a skill and nuance game to have a legit shot against Margarito.....and he's just been too reliant on speed and energy over the years. He's too old for that now.

Can Richardson help him? I dont know.....it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
.....but hey, Richardson has done a great job with Bernard Hopkins.....maybe Mosely can pick up a few of his tricks that would help him.

I like Mosley's choice in Richardson. He consistently seems to give good information in the corner. I don't know if he will be the difference in a fight against Margo but none the less I like the choice.

Margarito should be able to land his money shots against Margarito. This should be a bad match for Margarito, but big if he wins the test. Respect to both fighters if this fight comes off.

You forgot to mention that he's hiring Nazim Richardson instead.

Trainer or not I think it's a bad matchup for Margo. I'm picking Shane. I'm a fan of both. Styles make fights.

While Nazim is an AWESOME choice, there has to be some worry about their familiarity level during the fight.

If anything he should take a fight or two to get a comfort level down with Richardson...not rushing into a Margo fight with a new trainer.
