Agreed. He's had very soft opposition so far but has had his struggles in them. Hunter Sam, a career loser (not saying that in a nasty way) could easily have snatched a draw/win if it weren't fought in Auckland, and has looked bang average against Tai, Pascual, Lewis and A'asa. As you said, he does the basics, only really fights at one pace, and moves in straight lines. He's always reminded me of a poor mans Kubrat Pulev tbh.

Against the likes of Tai and Sam, he looked devoid of ideas when the run-of-the-mill boxing stuff didn't suffice. There isn't too much in his arsenal apart from, as we said, the absolute basics. Hence we see the Sams and old Guinns of the world being competitive, and Fa's getting by them on youth and physical endowment. Having said that, it takes a special athlete, a person obsessed with the sports intricacies to become world class +. I didn't even watch the Guinn fight but could guess that Guinn's journeyman level defensive skills nullified most of what Fa was offering offensively and his small bag of tricks was swiftly exhausted. But knowing NZ they'll simply be stamping into him religiously, the importance of the 'one, two' and the little known 'body shot then go upstairs' strategies.:headbash

found this. knockdown is 4:20. Looks like Fa has the AJ disease. Left temple shot sent him reeling

Continuing the Fa loses to x fighter thing....

43 year old Haumono who hasn't fought in 2 years almost certainly pastes him. And how about good old Chauncey at his peak? I think fatty actually out hustles and outboxes him.

How about Julius Long on a good night? Think he beats Fa as well.

For how cringy all the talk if the Dos Santos/Ngannou winner fighting Wilder is... I have little doubt that either could easily make the switch and best Fa.

It's virtually impossible to overcome that gap.
The guys in MMA just don´t have enough time to focus on their striking to compete with the best boxers. And one camp won't be enough to close that gap.
