Im watching friday night fights for the first time in a while and I can not believe how irritating Atlas is making it. No wonder no one watches boxing anymore, all the ads are for Cialis and Just For Men hair products and Teddy Atlas is giving Kellerman a serious run for worst boxing announcer.

Theres no way this sport is going to have any sort of comeback when this is what the casual fan is going to see.

Explain yourself? Atlas knows more about Boxing than anyone on these boards. I don't find him irritating at all.

So does Buddy McGirt but I wouldn't necessarily listen to him either.

Atlas is fine when he wants to be...but his bias leaks out when he comes across a fighter he doesn't like.

Knowledge is not necessarily the most important thing in show business or presentation. His voice is grating, hes difficult to understand and is all around unappealing. Of course hes incredibly knowledgable but he also makes ESPN's premier boxing program nigh on unwatchable unless the fights are nuts.

I don't even notice anything bad about him. I think it's just become fashionable to hate on the guy. He's taking the **** out of himself when he always predicts the underdog, and I love the analogies he comes out with. He's a cool guy in my view.

I think Atlas is actually doing a great job tonight, balancing out last week's atrociousness. He sucked something awful last week.

i find all nowadays commentator irritating, i prefer if they just describe the fight and not go into back stories when something important is happening.

Every fight it's the same thing..The Taller guy need to control the real estate, not give up his height and learn to fight as the bigger man.. Also, when he picks a theme for the fight he repeats the same thing 10,000 times!

    Teddy calls mismatches...
People hate that, He makes it seem like the star fighter is fighting alone.
Can't hate Atlas for that, Youngin's need to step up... I agree 100%

What the **** is he supposed to say when one of the greatest Amateur boxers of all time is fighting a complete bum?

I said pretty much the same thing in a thread about this a few days ago; people **** on Tessitore and Atlas, but look at what they are working with. They do a good job, considering.

Atlas isnt for everyone just as with anything in life. He brings alot of knowledge and you can only dislike him but so much. No ones perfect.

Personally i think atlas is a good announcer who's has a passion for what he does, whether it be announcing or training.

Atlas isn't a dummy-he likes to get in people skin, I wouldn't worry to much about it.
