OK now De la Hoya isn't a world beater but last night he fought well and looked good against a very tough guy with a great chin.

ESPN News says "Oscar looked rusty and couldn't even knock out this guy from a reality show"

way to mail it in, I mean are they intentionaly trying to discredit boxing?

I thouhgt he looked ok, he didnt fade too badly down the stretch, and lets not loose sight of what this fight was about, De la hoya getting some fight sharpness in before the PBF rematch. Factor in the fact that Forbes is extremely hard to hit flush, and all in all a decent workmanlike performance........**** espn :good

ESPN gives two shits about boxing.. They saw one of the most popular guys in the sport fight someone they probably never heard of so they assume that a KO was necessary.. If ESPN is covering boxing, don't listen to them..

ESPN gives a honest opinion about a fighter who did look rusty and 5 year ago would have KOed forbes in 6 or less , and you guys **** al over them for there opinion ?

but at the same time , you guys will not give floyd credit for fighting or beating Oscar .. :huh

So don't cry or ***** when floyd beat oscar again or not give him credit for beating oscar.. because it is pretty apparent from last night, that Oscar should not be fighting Floyd.

Pit, he will not get any credit because he beat Oscar already, comfortably, just like if Hatton comes back and beats say Witter, Floyd wont get any credit because he beat Hatton already.

oscar has very bad stamina at this point of his career

...but ESPN does suck in terms of fight coverage...all they do is football and baseball and some basketball

that's a ridiculous statement, one of the main ways that fighters get exposed to american fight fans is through espn and their friday night (and now wednesday night) shows... there are many prominent fighters around now who got their first break on espn

yeah but don't promote the guy when you know his performance last night put a stamp on the out come of his rematch with floyd. The same if not worse .

no, ESPN is right on this one. ODLH vs Steve Forbes was a ****ing joke matchup. I did not watch the fight and honestly couldn't care about the result. However, any bad press that boxing gets as a result of this matchup is well deserved.
