Arreola wins this one if he is anywhere near motivated.

I love that they are dishing out that kind of a budget. Seems like they might(i have my fingers crossed) try and do what Showtime did with boxing.
They currently revived the boxceno tournaments and boy o boy the middleweight one was good. Can´t wait for round two :bbb

Anyhoo, putting that kind of dough into one fight when he usual budget is no where near that suggests that ESPN is increasing it´s overall boxing budget.

This is really good news. Seems ESPN wants to put on a few shows of this size a year which is good to hear. They do well with their Friday Night Fights for the budget they have but it would be great if ESPN put more money into their Friday fights.

Large Dan wrote that HBO wasn't interested in the Stiverne-Arreola rematch and Showtime only slightly. So without ESPN stepping in who knows where or even if this fight would have aired.

I guess HBO has lost faith in Arreola and who knows where Stiverne will end up.

I picked Arreola the first time, but Stiverne shattered his nose so badly and I think it had a lot to do with the outcome of the fight. No BS though, Stiverne won fair and square...but I do not see lightning striking twice.

    Arreola by UD.

Agreed. Nothing taken away from Stiverne, he could very well wind up the winner again. But "fans" always seem to forget that sometimes the winner in the first fight is the loser in the second, and this one has all the earmarks of that.

Still would like to figure out the discrepancy between the conflicting May 10th and June 21st dates given for this fight.

Oh trust me, he's going to come motivated for this. The WBC title is on the line, a chance to make history by being the first ever Mexican American Heavyweight Champion and a chance to avenge a loss. If this doesn't motivate him to train his brains off then nothing will. I'm picking Arreola to come in as a complete beast and win this rematch and make history.
