Any news if ESPN UK will be showing any more boxing after the fight last night. It would be nice to see them coming in and showing more boxing from Europe and hopefully from the UK soon. You look at Sky with 1 promotor in the Hearns. VVarren on Boxnation , Hennesey on Channel 5 could ESPN with more money to splash on other sports with them losing the premier league rights from next season on could this be them now looking into boxing as a way of keeping subs along with the MMA this could be there market for the coming 3 years holding the rights for UFC and getting some more boxing on. I wouldnt be surprised to see more boxing on in the future. Any promotor in the UK must be looking at ESPN and now hoping to tempt them into some sort of deal. Maloney and Hatton must be a option for ESPN but will they do it the biggest question ever will they keep the boxing going. Also the comentary team for the fight was good with Darke always like him as a boxing commentator feel he is the best by a long shot. Also Bunce hosting the show was good. A good showing from ESPN last night.
Dunno Leighton, I can't see Wlad's people being impressed with what happened last night let alone the people at ESPN who probably cringed when little man ranted. BTW Just watching this, Intense build up and great entrances. Would love to see intense and emotional build ups like this in Boxing. Obviously in English .. Tbh I don't want Espn to show boxing, another pay tv channel entering the mix and depriving the majority is no good. I'd be happier if C5 brought on board another promoter.
Watched the full production and was very impressed. HD was great , Buncey leading with two well known talkative analysts was brilliant, no ads during the fight, straight to the main and then highlights of anything thats worth it afterwards etc etc etc Good on ESPN. Would definitely tune in next time and not just for the fight like I have started to do for BN but the whole production.
If ESPN gets shunted into the entertainment pack after the football goes to BT then I can see them picking up the odd fight (likely Klitschko fights). ESPN getting involved in boxing can only be bad news for Boxnation who don't pay top dollar for cards.
I get ESPN for free so the more boxing on it the better for me. I cant get Boxnation over here on my platform so this is a win win for me if they show more boxing. Would love to see them back a promotor from the UK and show the fights on Friday and link it with the Friday night fights from the US that they have a night of boxing would be great to start the weekend. More competition can only be good for the fighters if it means there is a chance of them getting more money with more TV stations showing the fights that can only be good.
