I don't agree. MMA is not about being a master of any one thing, but it's in the ability to mesh the styles. Conor would be a C level boxer but MMA punching is different to boxing punching, and MMA striking is utilised differently in the dome of multidimensional fighting present in MMA.
I'm more personally invested in boxing, that's why I prefer it to be frank. Rich, long history and is the pure gentleman's fighting sport.

ehhh... Apples and oranges. Not to mention that must of these have been mismatches as IB highlighted. As a Youtuber(who I won't name) once said.. Being a combat sports fan is a bit like having different women in your life.. When one isn't treating you right... Go to the other!!! That said... For a long time things were a lot better in MMA than they were in boxing, but the UFC has become a bit of a circus act lately whereas boxing is having one of it's best years in a long time, kickboxing is almost dead(sadly) 3 of the 4 proverbial nails are in the coffin.

 

Well I really thought he would go after him and get rid of him that round. He succeeded in the going after him part, but he still slaps too much with his punches.

 

I was thinking he could get a Calzaghe vs. Manfredo type of stoppage, but even that looks beyond reach with Marrufo stubbornly trading with him every time he comes slapping in.

Dadashev shoeshines Marrufo with some light flurries, mostly blocked, and Marrufo counters with a flush superman right hand on the jaw and while Marrufo is landing the ref steps in and hugs Marrufo "compassionately" (as though he were taking extreme punishment) with just a minute left in the contest?

I think you're right IB this guy he's fighting can and has been taken out in the past but Dadashev just doesn't have the mustard on his shots.

 

I'm caught between two worlds in all honesty... When talking to MMA fans I often find myself defending boxing, when talking to boxing fans it's sticking up for MMA...
