    Actually that shouldn't be your takeaway. It really is a mismatch, but Marriaga is a dangerous SOB that could probably ice 95% of the division with either hand.

    I don't know that he's just a brawler. I've seen him do everything at a fairly high level. It's more like he could have been a star if he'd had the proper backing. Instead, he came up hard, took a bunch of losses, probably never had a great trainer or promoter behind him, wasted years of his prime in the middle of nowhere.

    For one he did not fight Berto in his prime. Even the Guerrero fight was in the tail-end of his prime but at that time Guerrero is more comparable to a Walters/GRJ than a guy moving up in weight coming off a loss.
