I love watching Salido fight and got a ton of respect for him but the fact that he beat loma is absolutely mind boggling

i thought marriaga would be closer in size to loma because he looked bigger than valdez, but loma looked much bigger. perhaps mikey wont be much bigger, should they ever meet.

 

Aye but that's credit to Marriaga, he's a trickier boxer than his recent opposition.

 

He was pitty patting, throwing at half speed, varying the speed, just touching the guy, letting him know that he could touch him, holding back real power shots for when he was sure they would land. He doesn't pot shot like Mayweather. He keeps his hands and body moving, not really swarming, but keeping his opponents busy with constant pressure. If he thinks the punch will land, he can speed it up as it comes in. Some of what he's doing is what Marciano did throwing one punch to maneuver his opponent and make the next one land. But he throws an awful lot more than Mayweather. His output is way higher, which is why he's beating opponents up with an accumulation of punches and making them retire, whereas Mayweather would have been content with letting them reach the final bell and a wide UD.
