"Welterweight Amir Khan moving up to challenge Canelo Alvarez on May 7 for the middleweight championship (at a catchweight of 155 pounds) goes down as one of the rare surprises in boxing at the highest level. Not only was the fight not rumored, it wasn't even a thought in the minds of fans and experts because of weight differences and perceived hurdles on the business side. The fight literally came out of nowhere." i would have to agree....do you? people seem excited....this is invigorating to the boxing game....there are some people that could learn from this was there anyone here on the boards that mentioned this fight as a possibility in the near future?
for whom? khan is a big ww with room to grow yall swore he could beat floyd and floyd was ducking.... khan is a big deal...he has 1 mil twitter followers...its all about "business" ya know
sad but true khan has 1mil twitter followers....so hes "relevant"...and this is smart "business" on canelos part ggg wants to do smart business....guys like cotto and canelo do smart business smart business for ggg would have been calling canelos bluff and saying ok to 155...kicking his tail and enjoying the spoils of vicotory its a shame
I hope Khan kicks his a$$, and I can't stand Khan. Boxing is such bull***t these days. It probably always was, but with all the info we have access to today, the sport is more transparent and proves the sport worthless from a fan perspective. It clearly is not about seeing who is best.
I agree.....if it was about seeing who th best is then ggg would have entertained the idea of fighting ward....unfortunately he was more interestedin money and couldn't even do that right
Exactly. You're 100% correct. If Golovkin was what his team is trying to portray him as, he would have signed the fight. He is no different than every other fighter protecting their record and marketability. Same can be said for Ward too. He is the apparent p4p #1...and he needs several tune ups? The guys he was trying to fight were a disgrace too but he gets a pass because he said he would fight Kov... in 3 fights from now...lol. Ward could have come down in weight to fight GGG, it's not illegal.
