Valdez is landing HUGE body shots and doubling Quigg over as soon as they answer the bell. Valdez leading with uppercuts, driven straight up between Quigg's steepled gloves. Valdez is throwing everything full-power, attempting to get rid of Quigg early. Quigg answering in kind with his own body shots in the middle of the ring, but Valdez's are landing harder. Valdez is scoring the jab when he remembers to use it, reddening Quigg's face with it. More lead uppercuts from Valdez, getting away with it just on sheer explosiveness alone, surprising Quigg even the umpteenth time he does it. Wild looping right by Quigg, ducked easily by Valdez.

Round 3

Valdez is shooting the jab on the widow's peak and smashing the left hook into the floating rib. Quigg throwing underhanded low blows and clubbing shots while pitching himself forward, spine arched, gloves pinned to his face on the way in. Not much artful offense from Quigg. Nice right hand over the top by Valdez while skating counter-clockwise after luring Quigg almost into the ropes. Quigg pumps a 1-2 and is ducked, then sweeps out a low hook and misses broadly as Valdez dances away. Body shot by Valdez. Rabbit punch by Quigg.

3rd was the closest yet, gas tank for Valdez might be a concern..

 

Round 4

Valdez is backed into a corner, jabbing fiercely but unable to consistently deter Quigg. Right hand clubbed across the neck by Quigg, forcing Valdez to squat and wriggle to freedom. Nice body shots by Quigg, looping rights above the waistband. Valdez is breathing through his mouth and on the defensive now, throwing weak body punches and high creampuff jabs. Quigg is feeling his oats, doing a little weaving on the way in, throwing big uppercut combos downstairs. Valdez is getting cowed with rabbit punches, legit clubbing rights, and body shots.

Valdez better have brought a plan B or he's keeling towards a mid-late rounds stoppage defeat. Quigg is absolutely zero percent bothered at having fallen into an early points hole. Looking stronger and more confident with each moment the clock is running.
