Quigg had those good moments of hurting Valdez but they were too infrequent to compensate for the volume of Valdez.

Valdez is knackered, but doing his best in there, defending responsibly (albeit perhaps too little too late as he's still rattled from earlier) and connecting on some nice uppercuts on the chest and left hooks on the liver, but Quigg is just marching through everything and landing overhand rights and left uppercuts to the breadbasket. BIG chopping combo by Quigg, hurting Valdez by the ropes. Valdez jumps at Quigg and lands a flurry, then catches a wave outside. Quigg chases him out with some roping haymakers and lands them! Wild back and forth here.

Valdez is butterfly-netting with the right hand, and seems to have shattered Quigg's nose, which is now racing to catch up to Valdez's mouth for sheer amount of plasma oozed. Quigg walking up to within a pace of Valdez and hanging back, flicking up a jab from a Philly shell. A few left hooks marching in by Quigg but never fully selling out and getting inside. Valdez is hesitant, smells a trap, his instincts clearly telling him to jump in and pound Quigg but the savvier angels of his nature staying his legs. Valdez is drawing Quigg along, lowering his arms to bait him, throwing pot shot jabs.
