Elegele starts out throwing hard straight flurries out of the southpaw stance, backing Martinez up to the ropes. Martinez is able to pester him right off and eclipses the same distance coming forward behind a lunging left up-jab. Elegele is throwing high right jabs to the face and lefts to the body, maintaining his balance as he nocks each arrow. Elegele is clinching or shoving off when Martinez tries to edge in on him past that jab. Looping left to the body by Elegele. Martinez is backed up to a corner and tagged again with a left uppercut to the body. Martinez slips a 1-2 and sits momentarily against the ropes, where Elegele catches him with another left.

While I do think Delvin got unlucky yet again there against Wolak, let's not overcompensate by awarding him rounds in fights he's not even a participant in!

 

Round 3

Elegele is flipping out right jabs to the chest as Martinez backs away with his arms held out defensively to intercept. Martinez slips a high right jab with a bob of his head. Elegele digs a left uppercut and lands obliquely on the hip as Martinez flurries blindly at him and misses. They tie up. Martinez's face is busted up. Martinez is trying to snatch Elegele in a pincer grip jumping in. Elegele is able to slip and shove off the clinch attempts and keep peppering the body of Martinez with a soft patter of long jabs and lefts. Elegele throwing and landing more, but nothing of note. Martinez almost lands a hard overhand right while being backed up, but catches the quickly turning shoulder of Elegele instead.

Round 4

Martinez comes pressing right in, throwing overhand rights. Elegele shrinks into the ropes and maneuvers himself loosely until he can hold. Now it gets back to the previous pattern, with Elegele picking Martinez off at range with long weak right jabs and drag-net left hands to the body. Martinez tries to walk him down but gets jabs flipped up into his face. Martinez voluntarily stops moving forward and tries to guide Elegele back into a corner, but doesn't get a bite. Elegele keeps his distance and pecks away with the right jab. Elegele is putting nothing on his shots except the left uppercut and even that is a bit noodled.
