    Round 9

Gonzales is plugging away to the body with straight combos and reach-behind right hooks. Sierra is whipping his arms out to keep pace with Gonzales' output but not getting a lot of snap into them. Gonzales' face is a mess. Wild slow misses by Sierra. More wild misses. Clinch. Gonzales hops inside with minimal head movement and starts to clap in on Sierra's head from either side with both hands. Sierra throws a 1-2 but Gonzales just walks through it and causes it to cascade off his chest and shoulders as he throws his own short shots on the inside.

    10-9 Gonzales

    87-82 Gonzales

Not sure why you roll your eyes, he doesn't turn over his hooks at all.

Gonzales cut has been ruled from a headbutt, Sierra's cut has been ruled from a punch. Sierra still throwing, but just looks lie his energy level is almost gone. Gonzales starting to land almost at will, only has to wait for a Sierra right hand explosion here and there. As long as Sierra throws that right hand with force he still has a chance. Another Gonzales round.

    88-81 Gonzales

This needs a Corrales-Castillo ending to cap it off...

Gonzalez seems to be pushing the action more, trying to pull ahead and put added pressure on Sierra.

...and Sierra is what, Juan Manuel Marquez? If there's a guy in the ring to be called a slapper or lacking in technical punching form...

I wasn't taking sides, just making an observation.

Sierra is a bit of a slapper as well.

Exactly. Gonzalez isn't exactly a huge puncher at 168 but he's hardly a slapper.

Sierra getting desperate. Doesn't have the steam to throw much, and every punch he throws he's reaching and swinging for the fences. Even more so after the ref has the doc check the eye again.

    Round 10

Sierra lands a right, able to just lob it straight in from the outside as Gonzales sort of paused to take a breather halfway into a dart forward. Stamina may start telling soon. Gonzales takes a few more shots as Sierra comes alive. Left to the body and a right hook to the skull land for Gonzales. Another right hook by Gonzales, headhunting. Now Gonzales' cut is looked at. The doctor asks if he can see and appears to be placated. Sierra charges him and throws some hard rights. Gonzales springs laterally off the ropes and starts to load up big power shots to exchange, but is leaving his arms hanging straight down between them (and getting hit). Combo by Gonzales blocked. Wild miss by Sierra. They come together jabbing out wide and both connect with glancing crosses.

    10-9 Sierra

    96-92 Gonzales

Sierra manages to land a good left uppercut to stun Gonzales mid way through the round. Gonzales though is landing most of the effective shots at this point, wearing Sierra down. Now Gonzales getting his eye looked at... he's good to continue! Gonzales continuing to outbox Sierra, but Sierra lands a good shot here and there, just not enough. Sierra missing wildly to close the round.

    98-90 Gonzales
