ESPN2/3: Ryan Garcia vs. Fernando Vargas & Eddie Gómez vs. KeAndre Gibson RBR

I'm not sure boxing really needed a millennial Ryan Gosling.

That said, Garcia is a good prospect, despite the many reasons to find him irritating.

 

I'd be intrigued to see both; in either case he may or may not be ready.

 

Between that and Gómez's, yeah, couple of perfect right hands.

Believe it or not more than one Hispanic first name that starts with F and ends with "o" (with r-a-n also in there in the middle somewhere) can exist simultaneously!

 

Whoa, rewind? You think Kingry is the BEST prospect that Golden Boy has? Perhaps the biggest live gate draw (mostly because he moistens all the young ladies' panties) but in no way shape or form do I see him as the best.

Yamaguchi Falcão, Óscar Duarte, Antonio Orozco, Marvin Cabrera, Vergil Ortiz, Romero Duno, Azat Hovhannisyan, Éverton Lopes, Lamont Roach... + Alberto Machado (was until a few months ago; he just captured a vacant world title belt and thus has technically graduated from prospect status)

...all prospects under the GBP banner, most of them unbeaten and generating buzz among journos and boxing nerds. That list is on top of all their more established contenders, and the many signed greenhorns they're developing that currently have records of like 5-0 and less that we just haven't yet heard of. The roster is fine, and doesn't live or die by Kingry whatsoever. He can go bust and the sun will rise tomorrow for Oscar & co.

I'd say their farm system is pretty damn productive. They don't have a perfect success rate but no stable does. For every bust they have a couple more really solid looking kids to fill into their place behind them.
