The truth is he hasn't and in a sport that has a rich tradition of great African American fighters you can't overlook it. He should have atleast one elite Africsn American on his resume. Hell all the greats ones do. Duran, Calzaghe, JCC I could go on and on. Pac has an excuse when he was at the lower weights none were to be found but now there's plenty around him and one should be his next opponent.:deal

I dont think this is or should be a black and white issue.

You cant really blame Pacquiao's choice of opponents, the matchups that draw the most attention are those against bigger clashing type styles.

......its no secret that the only fighter to beat Pacquiao was a fighter that knew the intricacies of taking the step back and firing......

.......but fighters the style type of JMM are hard to find.
Certainly there are'nt any welters that are good counterpunchers.

There is Sergio Martinez, but he along with Paul Williams are fighting at Middleweight, I certainly am not going to criticize Pacquiao for not fighing middleweights.:nut

......I guess if you want a better welterweight matchup for Pacquiao, if not against a terrifec counterpuncher, at the very least a good matchup would be against a fighter that can come close to matching Pacquiao's speed, which certainly Pacquiao has not been facing.
Those would be Berto and Bradley.

Its not about black or white, its about styles, and certainly Pacquiao has only faced one type of fighter since losing to Marquez......and thats the fighter thats going to advance to him and attempt to overwhelm him with strenghth and power.......none of who have attempted have had the speed, ability, or stamina to fight from the backfoot to take away Pacquiao's tireless speed flurries.

Only one type of fighter beats Pacquiao, and thats a great fighter with the skillset to have fought in any era of boxing.
..........ahhhhh, ohhh yes, I forgot, there is only one currently that is in Pacquiao's weight class......his name is Floyd Mayweather Jr.......he's got the quickness, speed, and stamina to match and maybe even exceed Pacquiao's.......
.....oh my God he's also slicker with a defense to match the best ever defensively who have ever boxed.

.......and his ring IQ is on par if not better than any fighter that Pacquiao has ever faced......

Goodness, this fight should be made. All Pacquiao has to do to make it happen is take a simple random blood test.

Pac hasn't fought a lot of slick black fighters because throughout most of his career he fought in lower weight divisions which there tend to be far more latino and asian fighters. He has only had i think 5 fights above 135. 5 fights isn't a huge sample size.

Well, #1 I'm not a *******. I actively rooted against him in the 3 fights before Clottey (ODLH, Hatton, and Cotto). So #2 I don't think I'm qualified to answer your second question aimed at said *******s. TBH, I don't entirely understand your question, but I was perfectly happy with May's choice of both opponents. What I said had nothing to do with Mayweather anyway, I even said "outside of him".

It's a money business, so who do YOU think Manny's people are gonna tell him to fight? Bradley, who can't sellout a tiny spot in his hometown, or Margarito who has a nation of Mexicans behind him, plus a huge group of Mexican-Americans, PLUS a bunch of casual fans who wanna see him get KTFO by the best offensive fighter in our time period?

Very few of the lower weight class greats have them on their resume, because there just aren't a ton of African-American fighters under 130, and there never have been. Pac has spent all of 6 fights above 130 at this point. If he keeps fighting there, he'll have one eventually.

And I concede that that's why I'm not saying anything about his resume at the lower weights. Hopefully now he will fight one.

This is the steroid era we're living in you ****ing ******* troll. There's plenty of guys who never tested positive for anything who were later found out to have done PEDS. What's wrong with demanding testing in today's steroid era? Only *******s seem to object to this.

Manny Pacquiao sneaked up to 154lbs and grabbed a title from Paul Williams weight class, Williams is the man at 154lbs why not fight him instead of a shot fighter in Margarita? People need to call Pac out on this crap, the guy just made 25 million dollars and won a title fighting a shot guy that got KO'd cold almost 2 years ago.
