Paredes is from up my way, although he now resides down in "the other sunny palm-tree-laden Hollywood"...

He does have a decent crack with his right hand, which is bad news for Bolanos who as of fourteen months ago had never been stopped but has run afoul of guys who managed to do it thrice in a row.

    Round 1

Strong jab from Paredes, forcing Bolanos onto the back foot. Paredes is mixing in the right hand, chasing Bolanos with it but not lunging in recklessly, letting Bolanos get away secure in the knowledge that he will be there for the penetrating step-through single and double jab. A few loops downstairs from Bolanos as he cowers under the jab and props himself against Paredes.

    10-9 Paredes

    Round 2

Paredes is catching Bolanos' jab on the wrist tape or pinky area, picking them off in the air before taking confident strides in with his own. Hooks to the body by Paredes on the inside. Bolanos backs out throwing a few looping shots up top. Paredes catches them on the backs of his arms while continuing to peck away on Bolanos with the jab patiently backing him up while not sacrificing distance. Big right hand by Paredes at the bell.

    20-18 Paredes

Tessitore just mentioned Paredes' alphabet rankings... I think he said
WBC #4 WBA #3 not in the IBF top 10?

I'll fact check that in a bit.

    Round 3

Paredes is doubling the jab from outside, keeping himself turned in and presenting his left shoulder to Bolanos, keeping him out at full extension - which is arm's length for Paredes but outside Bolanos' range. Right hand dropped in by Paredes behind a jab from outside while dipping at the knees a bit. Bolanos lunges with a hook and right and lands well as Paredes is caught with both arms down at his trunks. Paredes turns a bit with each punch but is a split-second too late to roll with either. He isn't too bothered although Bolanos got him flush. More jabs circling left by Paredes.

    10-9 Paredes

    30-27 Paredes
