    That example was legit, but with his nasally Fran Drescher voice and lisp, it isn't what I would call beastly. And I'm sure he practiced in front of a mirror for days.

    Starks is walking Ponce down, jabbing him in the belly. Sweeping left hook by Starks as Ponce is bowing forward and tossing a 1-2 into the long skinny torso of Starks. Ponce is popping a quick backhand jab up at Starks and falling short. Jabs flicked out by Starks, leaning back a pace away from Ponce. Flurry up top by Ponce jumping in. Starks turns his body to the right and folds himself up with his arms wrapped over his face. Big counter uppercut threaded in by Starks working off the corner as Ponce flails at him while smothering in.

    Ponce didn't actually connect with much cleanly in that rally in the last ten seconds. Starks was slipping and keeping his head clear of almost all of that.

    Another controversial ending for ESPN FNF. Terrible job by the referee and timekeeper in that fight. The first knockdown, Barthelemy landed an obviously low blow in the buildup. The second and final knockdown, the killer punch was the left hook that Barthelemy did not even have cokked to throw when the first bell ring occurred to end the round. I am not sure if there was the usual standard 10-second warning, but the referee was nowhere near where he should have been, ready to step in at the bell to end the round. The person on the bell also was indecisive, two rings a full second apart. But bottom line, the KO punch was VERY late, and the fight should have been ruled a DQ right then and there. Now that it's after the fact, I guess the best that can be hoped for is a NC and that the IBF orders a rematch. Per Bernardo Osuna's report just now, it apparently is a very convoluted process to appeal the outcome, but something must be done. The State of Minnesota, in the meantime, needs to clean up its act if it wants to host any more boxing events.

    No dude. That isn't how justice works. If a murderer isn't read his Miranda rights and given due process, he gets off. Same thing here. Mendez was up ****'s creek but that was a bad call and a horrible way for a world title belt to change hands. At best for Barthelemy that should have been a time stoppage for Mendez to recover before they began round three; at worst a disqualification. (although I don't think it was intentional fouling with either the low blow or the late hits)
