Starks is poking Ponce on the stomach with his jab and then winging hooks in as Ponce rushes in with flurries, making Starks hold after the hooks skim off Ponce's flank or elbow. Ponce is caught by a hook leaping in with a high straight flurry. Ponce backs out and pot shots with his jab as Starks reaches in and taps him with a light jab or swats at his head with a long sloppy hook. Ponce lunges up with an overhand right but can't reach - like Romeo throwing pebbles up to Juliet in the penthouse suite of a skyscraper.

Starks is toying with Ponce, backing him up with soft face-brushing downward-swiping and backhanded jabs and then drilling him with right crosses on the cheek. Ponce is winging overhand rights up over his shoulder but not catching the chin of Starks up in the clouds. Starks is getting sloppy pushing for a knockout, but still able to remain upright enough to avoid Ponce nailing him with anything too punishing. A few grazes by Ponce as Starks is bobbing up and down tossing jabs and lashing rights.
