As much as he struggled against Perez last year I don't think he'll trouble Maicelo too much, he definitely doesn't have Nugaev's power. Johnson should take Gavronski who I don't think has Stevens power.

    Round 1

Hovhannisyan is walking Maicelo down, swinging his left arm by his side, applying pressure with the jab. Hovhannisyan is snapping to change direction abruptly, facing Maicelo as the Peruvian moves swiftly around him at medium-long range. Maicelo drops in fast double jabs while stepping laterally and lands a counter left hook in an exchange with Hovhannisyan pushing in with an overhand right.

    10-9 Maicelo

    Round 2

Hovhannisyan is jabbing with Hovhannisyan, scoring twice as Hovhannisyan misses once coming forward, speed telling. Maicelo bats down with a high right, arm fully extended like a baton. Hovhannisyan tries driving through with a forward step and flashing a couple of jabs into Maicelo's face, but is sidestepped. Maicelo is moving, picking his shoes up and passing heel over heel, then propelling himself outside and keeping that counter jab on Hovhannisyan.

    10-9 Maicelo

    20-18 Maicelo

    Round 3

Hovhannisyan throws a big left hook stepping in and Maicelo steps aside. Maicelo slips and goes down. Ruled a slip, but Osuna and Atlas thought it was a knockdown and it becomes an opportunity for Atlas to soapbox in lament that boxing doesn't currently use instant replay. Maicelo is ducking and throwing quick overhand rights up into Hovhannisyan's chin as Hovhannisyan looks for him at short range. Jabs on the body by Hovhannisyan after Maicelo settles down and moves outside. Hovhannisyan is pressing in and throws a jab at the same time as Maicelo, his butting up against the underside of Maicelo's chin and turning his face back. Hovhannisyan whips in an uppercut on the way in and grazes with a left hook. Maicelo circles out wider and jabs.

    10-9 Maicelo, very close

    30-27 Maicelo

The replay shows that not only was there a foot stomp, but Hovhannisyan didn't actually land clean with the hook. Maicelo took it on the back of the right arm and it grazed his throat but never came near his chin.

    Round 4

Hovhannisyan is walking in with his left arm lain down against his side, leaning back and letting Maicelo's jabs hit ulna. Maicelo is dancing rhythmically in and out, doubling a left hook and working quick overhand rights, headhunting and not stopping to smell the roses after hitting or missing, backing quickly out. Hovhannisyan tries a big counter uppercut and grazes with it as Maicelo is dancing in.

    10-9 Maicelo

    40-36 Maicelo

    Round 5

Hovhannisyan is jabbing in, right glove passed out ahead of his face a few inches and left hovering. Hovhannisyan steps on Maicelo's foot and is warned. Maicelo is ducking and circling around Hovhannisyan, using his up and down movement to load up hooks and right hand leads, peppering Hovhannisyan with shots. Hovhannisyan is overwhelmed and pushed onto the ropes, firing nothing back. Maicelo eases off the gas pedal before he can punch himself out, circling away with an uppercut.

    10-9 Maicelo

    50-45 Maicelo

Atlas has it 48-47 to Maicelo, giving Hovhannisyan the 2nd and 3rd. :!:

    Round 6

Hovhannisyan is pressuring with his left held low until he ropes it out in a jab. Hovhannisyan is bleeding from the nose and/or upper lip. Long jabs by Hovhannisyan, dropping into the chasm left as Maicelo increases his pace and shifts his orbit a few degrees. Counter jabs and check hooks by Maicelo dancing around the ring avoiding the ropes.

    10-9 Maicelo

    60-54 Maicelo

    "Hovhannisyan ain't no Nugaev"

Only took Atlas until the seventh to realize that. :yep

He spent the first 6.5 harping on pressure busting pipes in the Nugaev vs. Maicelo fight like it was a blueprint for this.
