Hovhannisyan is walking in, left arm down, inviting jabs and then slipping with head movement and quick forward leans. Hovhannisyan slaps Maicelo on the haunch with a hooking right downstairs. Maicelo is landing jabs and crosses, then staying in the pocket with hooks and hammering rights. Maicelo throws a burst of five power shots while Hovhannisyan is hooking back at him and grazing his upper skull. Maicelo backs out when things get too hot and throws jabs and counter hooks as he turns Hovhannisyan. Maicelo seems to be complaining of a foul in the waning moments, perhaps a low blow - although Hovhannisyan barely seemed to reach him enough to make contact, whatever it was.

Hovhannisyan is landing his jab now as Maicelo drops his gloves and baits him, standing in front of him and then jumping to his side at the last moment. It starts working for him after eating a couple of stiff jabs on the first couple of attempts. Maicelo has found a rhythm now and is jumping in with jabs and hammering rights. Maicelo flurries on Hovhannisyan and the Armenian goes down by the ropes. The referee has ruled it a slip. Hovhannisyan comes up bloodied on multiple parts of his face - eye, nose, and mouth. Maicelo is ducking the right hands of Hovhannisyan and hopping in with counter hooks, tying up when their chests touch.
