I wonder if losing two in a row, getting knocked down in each can really affect a fighters punch resistance? Is confidence that tied into punch resistance or what.

    Round 5

Trout is looking to rocket in with his left. Dawson is circling, playing defense, catching a few left hand leads from Trout on his chest and blocking those aimed higher. Trout is darting in with the 1-2, clipped with a short grazing right hand counter. Trout is much busier in the 5th, and thus edging it, but not very efficient.

    10-9 Trout

    47-46 Dawson

So that was the 'punch of the night'?

Did they completely forget about the opening bout highlight reel KO? :blood

    Round 6

Trout is flicking the right jab and circling to his left. Dawson whips a right hand across Trout's body trying to trap him on the ropes. Trout moves forward behind the right jab and ties up. Break ordered. Sloppy headhunting combination by Trout as he passes Dawson. Left jab by Dawson, falling short. Quick 1-2 by Trout. Up-jab by Trout, crouching in front of Dawson. Right hook by Trout, caught on the left arm as Dawson bends forward. Left hand by Trout. Right glove held out and oscillating in place, Trout walks Dawson into a corner.

    10-9 Trout

    56-56

What is wrong with Dawson?? He can easily win this fight but fights like being in a sparring session.

I think Trout may have found something with that step back left to the body. Dawson is open to it and he threw it a few times towards the end of the round.

That old anti-Egyptian bias of ESPN rearing its ugly head again. :-(

    ...may Sekhmet lay them low!!
