Watching this tournament makes me think more cruiserweights ought to come up in weight. In fact, I think there are some cruiserweights who could make it to the final of the tournament without actually gaining weight. The tournament participants look sort of like the promoter was s****ing the bottom of the barrel.

I remember when Estrada tried to make out he got robbed against Adamek and then flipped out during the post-fight interview.

The way he flopped to the canvas theatrically upon hearing the decision was comical. He acted like it was robber of the century even though he clearly lost.

He flipped out on Teddy Atlas during that post-fight interview too. He's lucky Teddy didn't hunt him down put a bullet in his head. lol

Estrada tried to pull the same sh*t after the Povetkin fight too, again in a fight he clearly lost.

I remember when people made out like Goral had made some huge statement by moving up to HW and beating shot Golota and then Estrada. :yep Like that couple of wins alone gave him a top contender's resume. (there were some already calling for him to be rushed in with a Klitschko brother then!!! :patsch)

When in truth, Arreola (or even Grant) ended up being twice as good a win as both shot Golota & Estrada combined.

I thought Golota would whop Adamek as I didn't think Tomasz would be big enough. And then I was actually ringside for the Estrada fight, and I was convinced that I what I believed going into the Golota fight was true - Adamek was way too small to succeed at heavyweight.

The one win (as you highlighted) that was impressive was Arreola. He looked very good that night, and he achieved more at heavyweight then I ever imagined possible.

But Golota was shot to bits, and Estrada he just s****ed by.

I always wished Adamek would have just remained at cruiser. That was his ideal fighting weight, and I think he could have had a dominant reign there, or at least been a competitive top guy who'd have made a solid legacy for himself.

But the temptation of that extra dough you can earn at heavyweight is too much for a lot of these guys to resist, especially when they already have a loyal base.

 Yeah, that's the one. ''I bust my assssSSS for 8 and a half weeks!''

''I could throw a million punches.. but it wasn't going to work tonight. Unless I killed him it wasn't going to work tonight''(meaning the judges were never going to give him the decision).

The guy's completely delusional. He was raising him arms at the ends of rounds Adamek had clearly won. lol

Fedesov looked good tonight and is the favorite. The problem is that Teddy Atlas picks Fedesov to win the tournament and that's bad luck..............Atlas is psychic in reverse..............

I figured with McGirt and Toney behind him and 150 amateur fights Cojanu would be technically better. He could have stopped fountain if he knew how to "snap" his punches instead of pushing them.

High point of the night: FEDOSOV. He has a fun style very aggressive like Mike Tyson, Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey. Turned professional at 17 years old?:think

Cojanu is big and strong, but he does not know how to fight. I am disappointed in Buddy McGirt's training. He did not use a jab, although he did well to the body, but at 6 feet 7.5 inches tall he should use his height. Vlad would knock him out with one hand tied behind him..........Buddy needs to work his **** off in the gym, make him jab for a week!

I think the Romanian's plan was to get close and use his "delicious" uppercut. Too bad McGirt wasn't vociferous about going to plan B. Cojanu should probably focus on changing the timing on his punches. It looked like his fist was leading his body instead of lagging behind the body a little bit creating some snap in the punch. He did land a very clean left hook and several right hands that would have been show stoppers if they had snap in them instead of a push behind them.

Make no mistake, I don't blame him one bit. But as a fan of his, I think he could have done great things at cruiserweight had he never moved up.

    :good

...and, to be fair, he wasn't exactly making slave wages as champ at cruiser...
