Adams is circling to his right, shooting left jabs into the face of Pérez and exploding up with a 1-2 past the probing right jab. Pérez walks the shorter man down, pushing his jab in, swinging wide right hooks, getting countered with inclined 1-2s. Adams is ambushing the taller southpaw with quick straight volleys. Adams is clapping left hooks into Pérez's right ear and banging his sternum with a short right uppercut. Pérez is circling away, pawing his right jab ineffectively.

Round 2

Adams is throwing jabs and jab-feints with the left, stepping through with hard right hands on the chest, backing Pérez into the ropes. Adams is banging away on the biceps and neck of Pérez with hook and chopping right combos on the way in. Uppercuts and body shots on the inside by Adams. Pérez is giving up his height advantage and throwing wild right hooks over Adams' head and trading uppercuts with him with his own back on the ropes, getting the worst of it, most of his uppercuts stopped on the bottom of Adams' arms.

Round 3

Adams is shoving Pérez into the ropes with uppercuts and hooks, crossing his arms over his face and turning it as he steamrolls in. Pérez is dragging his arms from the middle ropes up to Adams' chin with slow telegraphed uppercuts. Quick 1-2s on the face by Adams, forcing the issue and looking for a KO. Adams is hitting the body in multiples, then dipping and rolling aside while Pérez misses and grazes with sweeping and upward-flipping shots.
