Adams is doubling his jab up top and looking to stick Monroe with an immobilizing right on the abdomen. Monroe is doubling his long, quick right jab into the guard while staying mobile, peeling his shoes off the canvas and resetting his balance, keeping his leg width fairly consistent even when forced to backpedal more quickly from Adams' pressure. Adams is picking off the right jab bringing his right glove down, getting into Monroe's chest and staying there, pumping out straight punches with his face tilted down so that Monroe's flurries pass overhead.

Monroe is waiting for Adams, hunkering down and sliding his feet quickly in reverse, popping up right jabs and trucking in the heavy cargo every two or three connects with the anti-aircraft left cross from a crouch. Adams is pecking in after him with the left jab, quickly withdrawing into a sloped defensive posture every time he throws, unable to get close without the 1-2 drizzling over his face.

Round 5

Adams is jabbing in and twitching back as Monroe shows the 1-2. Double right jabs by Monroe, working off the ropes even as he gets walked onto them and outmaneuvered. Adams uses head movement up close to minimize the cleanliness of Monroe's quick snakebite right jabs and lefts from behind the back. Adams is waving his left around instead of jabbing and then leading with hooks and chopping with the right hand coming forward. Monroe crouches away, drawing back the left and shooting it up as he skirts off the ropes. Adams is chasing and looking for a big 3-2 combo as Monroe circles and ducks, swift and loose.

Round 6

Monroe is circling and double-tapping Adams' outstretched palm with the right jab. Monroe is changing directions on the outside, surefooted, reaching out with jabs and quick single-blast lefts. Adams keeps pressing, miming his left jab. BIG right hand by Adams with their legs entwined, knocking Monroe back into the ropes. Monroe gathers his wits and circles, jabbing. Nice left hand lead and right hook by Monroe sitting back with Adams creeping in behind the left jab from a high turtle shell. BIG left hook by Adams grinding Monroe into a corner, just grazing as Monroe drapes his arms over Adams' back and then pushes off and flurries while moving laterally on his toes at the bell.
